Christmas Music
Went by the Community Center Christmas Concert the other night. It was organized by a community member, Sundae Horn, who did a fine job. Anyone who played an instrument or sang was invited to be part of the program. The Day Care children sang a few songs which was a big hit and very cute. There were lots of good music and some fine readings. It was a fun time with goodies sold to raise money for the Day Care Center. Volunteers decorated the place which made it look really festive.
Speaking of festive, the island is full of lights, wreaths, ribbons making it look quite…. holidayish! (Yes I know that isn’t a word but it should be!). The town has angels and snow flakes done in white lights, on the power poles, which dress up the village. Many of the houses and businesses have their lights strung which add such spark and twinkle. And remember those beautiful wreaths I mentioned some island women making? Well, they are also hung all around the Island’s businesses and homes and look wonderful. I even saw a golf cart and a truck with a wreath tied on the front grill – now that is feeling the holiday spirit!
Returning to the Castle with all the lights on the tree and Christmas cheer is always a treat. It looks great and makes you feel all fuzzy inside. Hope you join us soon.
