Come Quick

Come Quick

What?? Only a few more days to book your stay at the Castle before they close for the season? I overheard that on December 20 the Castle closes for maintenance, until re- opening for their wonderful Valentine’s Day event. (more on that later). It will be extra quiet without the guests; but I sure think it is nice that the Castle employees get some time off and they will be able to spend the holidays with their loved ones.

As I have mentioned, the whole island is buttoning up pretty tight. But that also means the locals get to slow down and enjoy this beautiful island. During the season, especially in the summer, mostly everyone seems to work so hard they don’t get to visit with each other….much less get to the beach. There are some enjoyable events coming up for the holidays. There is a Community Caroling organized by one of the churches on Friday December 17th, which starts at 5 pm. A Live Nativity is scheduled for Saturday, December 18th, in the early evening. Both churches have Christmas services the next few Sundays. And my favorite is an Oyster Roast that benefits the Fish House…..The Ocracoke Working Watermen’s Association, is scheduled for December 30th. I’m snooping around for more details, and will definitely let you more about it.

So – what are you waiting on? Make your plans to come visit. Even if you decide to come while the Castle is closed, there are some beautiful Villas on the property. I heard you can view them by visiting this here website for the Castle. If you visit, I promise to be quiet and not bother you…..part of the charm of being a spirit is you won’t even know I’m around.
