New Years Eve Fun

Looks like lots is going to be happening on New Years Eve on this small island – doesn’t surprise me one bit, knowing how much these folks like to celebrate. There is a party and dance to raise money for the Volunteer Fire Department being held at the Community Center. I heard any help will be gladly accepted. In fact, they just had a house fire last week. No one was hurt as the house was empty, but looks like the building is a total loss. The firefighters did an excellent job as usual, in containing and putting the fire out. It was in a crowded area and pretty scary. Please come help support them…or send a donation to them. They well deserve it.

A couple of local bars are having some local music also. The Ocracoke Rockers are playing at the Creekside and the Aaron Caswell Band at Gaffers. And the best thing is I think they both start about 8 or 8:30. I know some of us older folks like to get out and it is hard when the music starts so late. If we make it to midnight it’ll be great….. On the bright side at least we can hear some fine tunes before we have to call it a night.

Whatever you do, I hope you get out and have some fun. That is what New Years is all about. Looks like some guests will be at the Villas with plenty room for more. If you haven’t made your plans – make them now. I’ll have the Castle to myself until they reopen in February; but I won’t bother you – I promise!
